Pakistan’s Foreign Office has said that Seema Haider’s nationality has not been confirmed so far.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that India has not granted consular access to Seema so far either.
Baloch also addressed the case of Anju, and said that the Indian woman had came to Pakistan on authentic documents.
Seema Haider’s case has made headlines in both countries after it emerged that she had crossed borders to be with an Indian man she had met on PUBG. Seema had later claimed that she had converted to Huindusim and did not want to go back to Pakistan.
Although she was briefly detained and investigated for espionage as well, authorities have given her a ‘clean chit’ in terms of security concerns.
Meanhwhile, Anju’s case has drawn many parallels with Seema’s but could lead to a different ending. News had emerged that Anju had married Dir’s Nasrullah. However, it was later refuted and Anju said she would reutrn to India when her visa ended.
