The much-awaited world cup clash between India and Pakistan is likely to be rescheduled due to a clash with Navratri festival.
The festival will begin on October 15 in Gujarat, the same day and same place the match is supposed to take place.
Indian security agencies have sent and advice to the government saying the schedule should be changed.
The match is supposed to take place at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad which has a capacity of 100,000 fans.
However, a change in schedule could lead to problems for fans who have already booked flights as well as hotels in the city. The Indai Express reported that hotels in the city are ‘overbooked’ and a surge in air fares is also expected.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah has called a meeting of all pariticpating nations’ associations on July 27 where the matter could come up for discussion.
