Another spell of monsoon rains to begin today

Pakistan Meteorological Department has announced that another round of monsoon rains is expected to begin in multiple parts of the country from Wednesday.

A new wind system is expected to enter the country’s norhern parts from Wednesday, which can lead to rains lasting from july 12 to July 17.

Thunerstorms are initially expected to being in Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and Islamabad.

In addition to AJK and GB, the rains will also make an appearance in Upper Punjab, Southern Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In Balochistan, rains are expected in Barkhan, Loralai, Sibbi, Zhob, Kalat, Khuzdar and Lasbela.

Authorities have warned that low lying areas could be inundated with water while landsliding could occur in moutinous regions in this next rain spell. The National Disaster management Authority has instructed authorities to remain vigialnt and prepared to deal with any situation.

How will the weather be in Karachi?

The Met office said that temperature in Karachi is expected to remain between 29 and 38 degree celsius.

Winds are expected to blow at 18km/h in a south to west direction while humidity will remain 72%.

Authorities say light rains could be expected in the city while end of July will bring heavier rains.
