Lake Saif-ul-Malook, Babusar Top receive snowfall

Lake Saif-ul-Malook in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kaghan Valley received snowfall on Saturday that changed the weather to cold as tourists are travelling to the upper regions of Swat.

The weather in the adjacent areas also changed after rainfall continued in Naran, Kaghan and Balakot.

The road leading to Babusar Top in Kaghan Valley was cleared, which was blocked after the region received an unexpected heavy snowfall early morning on Friday, while the temperature dipped to below zero degrees Celsius.

The weather turned cold in the area after an unexpected spell of snowfall the previous day. Babusar Top is the highest point at an elevation of around 13,700 feet at the border of KP and Gilgit Baltistan.

Several clips on social media showed several inches of snowfall blanketed roads due to which tourists and travellers were stranded.

Due to the loss of traction for the vehicles amid heavy snowfall, travellers had stopped by the roadside, while those making their way to the Babusar Pass had been stopped midway.
