Facebook services were down for many users worldwide on Friday, according to the internet’s observatory, Net Block.
“Facebook services have been experiencing international outages for many users, with high impact to Messenger and media upload endpoints; incident not related to country-level internet disruptions or filtering,” the observatory tweeted.
Aaj News staffers complained that they were facing problems while uploading videos. Text posts and images were working well, however, the videos were either not processing or taking longer than expected.
The international outage surfaces a day after Meta, the parent company of Facebook, launched Threads which is built to compete with Twitter.
Many users of microblogging social media sites have expressed concerns over the shenanigans of Elon Musk, who took over as Twitter boss in October 2022.
Musk shut the social media platform’s popular dashboard Tweetdeck for unverified users on July 4.
The new restrictions on Tweetdeck were to apply in 30 days, according to an announcement by Twitter, but they have already taken effect for a large number of users from Tuesday.
