Politician and businessman Jahangir Tareen’s brother, Alamgir Tareen, allegedly died by suicide on Thursday.
Family and party sources claimed that Alamgir died of a self-inflicted gunshot. However, the police, who arrived on the scene. are yet to make an official statement.
Jahangir Tareen reportedly received the news during a meeting of the Istihkam-e-Pakistan party.
Tareen, 63, was a well-known businessman from South Punjab and was also the owner and managing director of Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League.
He was running the largest water purification plant in the country and was also his organisation, Shamim and Company (Pvt), disributed Pepsi products in South Punjab.
He had a bachelors degree from University of California Berkeley and a masters from Yale University.
Tareen was set to get married in December.
