Families relive memories of martyrs on Eid

While the people of Pakistan will celebrate Eid ul Azha today (June 29) with their families, the martyrs’ families will spend their Eid reliving the memories of their loved ones who laid down their lives for the peace and security of the country.

Shaukat Piracha, who is hosting Aaj TV show Faisla Aap Ka, visited the families of the martyrs to pay tribute to the selfless sacrifices of the martyrs of Pakistan.

Mother of Army Captain Nawabzada Jazib Rehman Shaheed said that her son was martyred in a suicide blast in Swat in 2018.

“My day starts with him and ends with reliving his memories. All the happiness ended after he left. He visited us one week before the attack on his unit,” she said.

He was a true lover of Pakistan and was passionate to defend his country, she said, adding: “He had all the luxuries in the world, but he left them to serve his country for Rs50,000 salary.”

She urged for strict actions against May 9 perpetrators who vandalised the martyrs’ memorials. “The martyrs laid their lives for Pakistan, not for any party. The vile acts on May 9 have hurt the martyrs’ families.”

Mother of Army’s Captain Sabih Abrar Shaheed said he embraced shahadat during intelligence based operation in Waziristan.

She said that the perpetrators of the May 9 riots have tried to degrade the army. The army is present at every difficult situation in the country, she added.

“Perhaps foreign powers tried to incite hatred against the army or perhaps they [May 9 perpetrators] have developed hatred towards the army,” she said.

She called it a “shameful” act to attack the army and martyrs’ memorials, while calling for swift action against those involved in the May 9 riots.

Abdul Rahim Shaheed’s mother said that Rahim was her eldest son. “My son gave his life for Pakistan, if needed I will sacrifice all my sons for Pakistan.”
