Hot and humid weather was observed in Lahore; however, the Chief Meteorologist is optimistic that the new system entering Pakistan will make the weather pleasant.
As Met Office already issued a heat wave alert, which will continue till June 24, after which there is some good news. While as for today the mercury could touch 44-degree centigrade in the city,“ Chief meteorologist Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam said.
“People are experiencing weather extremely hot due to humidity, but after the 24th, a new system will enter Pakistan which will decrease the heat wave intensity and make the weather pleasant. Moreover, people can also enjoy the weather on Eid.”
The pre-monsoon season is expected to lash most parts of Pakistan from June 25 to 30.
The National Disaster Management Authority warned of urban flooding in major cities and directed provinces to ensure public safety during this period.
