Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon announced to launch of the People’s Bus Service mobile app to facilitate commuters.
The app will be live by June 22, he confirmed during the meeting held on Monday.
On this occasion Transport Department and the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) officials were also present.
During the meeting, it was decided to connect the bus service with the online system. Moreover, 20 green buses will become a part of the People’s Bus service from August 20.
Sharjeel said, “The Sindh Government understands the travel problems of the people and wants to alleviate their suffering.”
Additionally, CCTV cameras, an audio system, USB ports, Wi-Fi, and a driver alarm will also be installed in the vehicles.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed conducting more surveys related to running people’s buses on the Lyari Expressway.
The participants of the meeting also considered starting transport projects in rural areas. Sharjeel said, “Rural areas will be connected to urban areas through the People’s Buses.”
They also considered starting the service from Hala Naka to Kisana Mori in Hyderabad. Sharjeel Memon presided over the meeting, and Salim Rajput, Kamal Dayo, and Tufail Plaju participated in the meeting.
