Senior journalist Javed Chaudhry has claimed that PTI’s chairman will be arrested soon had will be tried in the special military court set up in Rawalpindi.
Speaking to Shaukat Piracha in Rubaroo on Aaj News on Saturday, Chaudhry said that the PTI chairman could face a life sentence from the military court where the minimum punishment is a 10 years in jail.
He also said that the politican will be arrested soon because he had been successfully isolated. He added that 40 days ago, Zaman park had been filled with workers and leaders but was now completely devoid of people, even security.
Chaudhry said that the chairman PTI was being regularly told that he would be arrested soon and was sleeping and waking with the ‘tension’ in his mind.
Chaudhry said that the chairman had been ‘trapped’ by the people around him, who had convinced him that the army and the judiciary were divided and the time was ripe for a revolution. He said that the politican had been convinced that he would become ‘Khomeini’.
He said that it ‘seemed’ that the events of May 9 had been planned in detail with people being told where to go.
“He is the biggest loser in all of this,” Chaudhry said.
He said that the PTI Chairman had continuously miscalculated things by leaving the assembly, dissolving KP and Punjab assemblies and continoulsy picking fights with the establishment.
Chaudhry also said that there was only one advisor that Imran Khan rgularly listens to, his wife Bushra Begum.
He added that while Bushra belonged to a family with political roots, she was not a political person herself and had no idea of politcal matters.
Chaudhry also said that Imran Khan had a sigular quality that was his biggest strength and his weakness. He said that the quality was that Imran never gives up, not only till the last delivery but even if the pavilion was uprooted.
However, he added, the same thing became Chairman PTI’s weakness as he refused to see the way things were moving.
Javed Chaudhry also claimed that PTI was completely an establishment party and even the rent of ther party’s offices was paid by the establishment. He added that most key figures in the party had also been establishment’s people.
He added that there is no anti-establishment party in Pakistan and all parties were racing to prove themselves before the establishment.
He said that the only anti-establishment politician was the Chairman PTI but even he was continuously trying to show how loyal he is.
He added that the PTI chairman was isolated and also facing hundreds of cases against him.
Asked about Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s statement that the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party had been ‘dead on arrival’, Chaudhry said it was the wrong impression that the IPP would be non-factor in the elections.
“The IPP will definitely create a dent,” he said, “it contains the same electables taht enabled the PTI to come to power in 2018.”
He also said that these electables had been in politics for multiple generations and Jahangir Tareen knew how to set up a politial structure.
He added that three parts of the PTI were now in establishment control, one in Tareen’s control, Pervez Khattak was trying to create his own party and the rest were with Shah Mahmood who is ‘their man’.
Chaudhry said that the government alliance was divided on when elections should be held and there were multiple points of view under consideration.
He said that the Pakistan People’s Party and Maulana Fazal ur Rehman want to push elections forward by one year until they find more ground in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. An alliance with the IPP could also be on the cards for these parties.
However, Chaudhry said both parties were also in favour of waiting as long as needed to make sure that the PTI chairman had been ‘dealt with’.
Chaudhry said that PMLN on the other hand is in favour of going into elections quickly so that PPP and other parties would not be able to gather more ground in Punjab.
