Pakistan may lose ICC Champions Trophy 2025: report

While it is not the appropriate time to discuss the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, however, a recent revelation made by Indian media would defiantly gain your attention.

The report from News 18 claims that the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will be hosted by Pakistan, would move to West Indies.

The publication states that it is due to the shuffle of events involving the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and 2025’s Champions trophy.

Reports are circulating that the 2024 T20 World Cup, co-hosted by West Indies and the United States, could be moved to another location due to a lack of infrastructure.

And, according to the Indian publication, to compensate West Indies, ICC could award the ICC Champions Trophy event to West Indies.

Moreover, it said, the Pakistan Cricket Board may get compensated monetarily for the loss as well.

At this moment, the aforementioned development is being discussed verbally, and broadcasters are in agreement over the proposed idea.

As for now, England emerged favourites to host the 2024 T20 World Cup – if shifted out of the West Indies & USA.

Further now, the global cricketing body is also exploring an arrangement where West Indies & USA could host the 2025 Champions Trophy – proposed to be moved out of Pakistan – which is a smaller event, puts the broadcaster at lesser financial risk and will require lesser infrastructure to get going.
