One of the people involved in the May 9 riots at the Corps Commander House in Lahore has been identified as a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and has alleged that the plan had been made in advance.
Hashir Khan Durrani, information secretary for the Insaf Youth Wing’s Lahore chapter, has alleged in a video that the events that occured after Imran Khan’s arrest on May 9 had been made in advance at Zaman Park.
He also specifically named Yasmin Rashid, Mahmood ur Rasheed and Sheikh Imtiaz as the leaders who had planned the attack.
“Imran Khan’s anti-army narrative affected the people which led to the attack,” Hashir said in the video.
He also said that he had been at the Corps Commander House and had raised the flag at the entrance and instigated people to vandalism. He also said he had recorded a video of himself and said it was ‘Khan House, not Corp Commander House’.
However, he added that the army’s reaction had been positive.
“It is our army. They did not harm a single citizen,” he said.
In a video from May 9, Hashir can be seen recording a video of himself on his phone inside the Corps Commander House, while repeatedly screaming “Inqilaab”. He also says that ‘four generals’ cannot decide the fate of Pakistan and that people are announcing their decision.
