K-Electric consumers get ready to pay additional charges for electricity

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has granted approval for an additional surcharge of Rs1.55 per unit for consumers of K-Electric.

Nepra made the decision to increase the per unit price of electricity in response to a request from the federal government.

The revised rates will be applicable for the months of May, June, and July.

This adjustment in electricity prices has been implemented to cover the period of July, August, and September 2022.

The approval of the surcharge by Nepra will impact K-Electric consumers, who will now need to factor in the increased rates while calculating their electricity bills for the designated months.
