Don’t turn political grudges into personal, says Shujaat in meeting with Zardari

Political grudges should not be turned into personal, said PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain during a meeting with former president Asif Ali Zardari on Friday.

“Think about the country,” he said. Shujaat was accompanied by Chaudhry Sarwar during the meeting.

Zardari had called on him in Lahore to discuss the ongoing political development as the PPP makes major political gains in the province. At least 24 former legislators and ticket holders, mostly from the PTI joined the Sindh-ruling party after meeting Zardari on Wednesday, Dawn reported.

The PML-Q went on to add that all political parties would have to play a role in improving the economy.

“Decreasing inflation should be a top priority of the government,” he said and added that politicians will have to think about the people.

He further demanded an increase in the salaries and pensions of the government employees.

Sarwar was of the view that the salary of a worker should be at least enough to educate their children. “The budget should be tax-free for the poor.

“Apparently, in every budget, it is said that the poor will get relief, but the beneficiaries are the elite.”

Zardari also met with PML-N leader Ayaz Sadiq to offer his condolences over the demise of his brother
