Four of a family die of suffocation in Quetta

Four members of a family died of gas suffocation on Friday in Balochistan’s Quetta, said rescue officials and the police.

“Muhammad Ali, a resident of the Akhtarabad area of the Western Bypass, was working by running a generator in a well at home on Friday when he died of suffocation due to gas filling in the well,” said Shalkot SHO Abid Mengal.

To get him out, his elder son Khamisa Khan also jumped into the well, but he died of suffocation. Later, Ali’s wife and his second, Muhammad Yusuf, also went down into the well to save them. But they could not.

On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and called the rescue team of PDMA. They reached the site along with the heavy missionary, but their efforts to retrieve the bodies failed.

They called two young men, Jalil Ahmed and Amir Hamza, who arrived from Mastung and retrieved the four bodies.

In the recent past, the police said that the two rescuers had recovered two bodies from a well in the Chiki Shahwani area of the city. After this, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudous Bizenjo employed the two youths in PDMA.
