Former Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar announced that he would ‘withdraw’ from politics.
He also condemned the events of May 9 that had damaged national installations.
“We have always stood with the army and always will stand with the army,” he said. He also appealed to all stakeholders to sit together to find solutions for the sake of the country.
In response to a question, Buzdar said that all innocent people who were in prison over the events of May 9 should be released.
Buzdar remained chief minister for three years and seven months during the PTI government.
His resignation is the latest in a long line of PTI leaders who have jumped ship since a crackdwon began on the party after the violent protests of May 9.
