Pakistan likely to skip ODIs during Sri Lanka tour

Pakistan are unlikely to play one-day games during their upcoming tour of Sri Lanka in July this year.

The idea was floated by the Sri Lankan officials to play ODIs to prepare for the upcoming 50-over Asia Cup and the World Cup.

However, the Pakistan Cricket Board is likely to drop the idea of playing any additional games apart from the two Tests.

The Sri Lanka Cricket will announce the schedule of the Test series in the coming days. The series will be part of the ICC World Test Championship 2024-26.

It is believed that the PCB made a decision as uncertainty around Pakistan’s participation in the Asia Cup. The tournament is hosted by Pakistan in September this year.

It must be noted that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has refused to send their team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup and is keen on ensuring that the event is held at a neutral venue [Sri Lanka].
