Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced new prices for petrol and diesel effective from June 1 to June 15.
Fuel | Old Price | New Price | Change |
---|---|---|---|
Petrol | Rs270 | Rs262 | Rs8 decrease |
Diesel | Rs 258 | Rs253 | Rs5 decrease |
Kerosene | Rs164 | Rs164 | No change |
Light diesel | Rs152 | Rs147 | Rs5 decrease |
Ishaq Dar said that the prices of oil in the international market had not decreased significantly in the last fortnight and the rupee had also not gained any significant value against the dollar.
“We have tried to give maximum relief to the public,” Dar said.
Petrol and diesel prices are revised every fortnight. The prices are determined by international prices and the rupee’s exchange rate since most of Pakistan’s oil is imported.
