Former interior minister Sheikh Rashid has claimed that he was not on talking terms with the-then adviser to the prime minister on interior and accountability Shahzad Akbar when the Al-Qadir Trust matter was taken up by the cabinet.
He said this in his reply to the National Accountability Bureau, which is investigating the alleged corruption in the land allotment case. Rashid shared a copy of his reply on Twitter on Tuesday.
“I want to inform you that when the item of Al-Qadir Trust was taken up in cabinet meeting on 13.12.2019, I was not present as I had already left the cabinet meeting before the said item was taken up. I have no information and evidence with regard to Al-Qadir Trust,” it said.
“Furthermore, I was having strained relations with Shahzad Akbar and was not even on talking terms with him. I have no evidence or document in my possession with regard to Al-Qadir Trust case,” the reply added.
