Real Madrid are close to completing their first signing of the summer transfer window as they reportedly agree on a deal with Borussia Dortmund for Jude Bellingham.
The England midfielder was tipped for a move this summer with leading European clubs in pursuit of his signature. However, the 14-time Champions League winners are in pole position to sign the BVB star.
Renowned football journalist Matteo Moretto in a tweet said that Jude Bellingham is joining Madrid for €100M plus add-ons on a six-year contract.
It was understood that the Bundesliga club wants over $165m for their 19-year-old midfielder.
Moreover, Real Madrid are expected to announce the signing at the end of the Bundesliga.
Earlier, Fabrizio Romano, a football journalist, confirmed that the Los Blancos have made significant progress in the talks and personal terms are almost agreed.
The 19-year-old, who joined Dortmund from Birmingham City in July 2020, was one of England’s top performers at last year’s World Cup.
If all things go as planned, Bellingham, who turns 20 next month, will join the young mid-field of Real Madrid which already features Tchouameni (23) and Eduardo Camavinga (20).
The prospect of that trio playing behind the Brazilians Vinicius Junior (22) and Rodrygo (22), and the Uruguayan Fede Valverde (24) gives Real the belief that they have negotiated a tricky changing of the old guard.
