The historic Jinnah House in Lahore turned into ashes during the May 9 riots which broke out after the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
However, the complete details of the raid at the corps commander’s house and evidence of links between the attackers and the political party have now emerged in public.
During the investigation of the attack, concrete evidence of communication and messaging between miscreants and political leaders has been revealed.
Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has already ordered a crackdown against the planners of the attack.
From 2:35 pm to 2:40 pm, protesters started gathering at Zaman Park – the residence of Imran Khan – in Lahore. Between 2:55 to 3:20 pm, PTI leader Dr Yasmin Rashid and other leaders reached the Liberty Chowk.
The first raid was carried out on the Jinnah House at 5:51 Pm. About 25 to 30 people were involved in the first attack, but they were pushed back by the guards.
However, at 5:27 pm they re-entered the Jinnah House and gradually their number was increased.
From 5:30 pm to 6 pm, they vandalised the Jinnah House and caused severe damage. It was completely burnt at 6.07 pm and at 6.10 pm, more reinforcements of miscreants reached the Jinnah House, who played their role in the destruction.
At 6.13 pm another mob of people reached Jinnah from Dharampura.
From 6:30 pm to 7:55 pm, about 2,000 people collectively destroyed Jinnah House. This destruction continued till 8 pm.
At the same time, miscreants also attacked the office of the Military Engineering Services and destroyed it.
Similar attacks were carried out in more than 200 places across the country. In a span of 2 to 3 hours, these miscreants caused serious damage to the property.
Jinnah House was systematically attacked with full planning and coordination, with the direct participation and guidance of some leaders.
