It looks like the wish of using WhatsApp on multiple devices has been granted, as the messaging application is now rolling out the log in support for more than one phone.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed the development on Facebook and Instagram saying, “Starting today, you can log into the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones.”
The messaging application said that this feature is rolling out to all users within the coming weeks.
Until now, users could only use one WhatsApp account on one phone and multiple companion desktop devices.
However, now they will be able to sync across devices including other phones at once. So even if one device is switched off, they can access the app on other devices.
The company started testing the multi-device compatibility back in 2021, where only a handful of users were given access to use the beta option.
Moreover, they are also able to incorporate it maintaining end-to-end encryption protection, which is not available on competing apps like Telegram and Messenger.
In 2022, WhatsApp started making multidevice features available to everyone. But it didn’t support multiple phones.
