The authorities are closer to solving a triple homicide in Balochistan after DNA testing revealed the identities of mysterious bodies discovered in a well in Barkhan.
The report, which was obtained by Aaj News, revealed that the two males are sons of Giran Naz Bibi, the wife of Mohammad Marri.
Earlier, Giran Naz raised an objection on the identity of a body that one of them was not her son. However, Lahore’s DNA lab confirmed that both of them are her sons.
Giran Naz Bibi had claimed that two of her children were killed. “My two sons were killed. Their bodies should be given to us. I want to see them.”
The three bullet-riddled bodies were found in a well in Haji Kot village of Barkhan, near Khetran’s residence. While the two young men were shot in the head, the female victim’s face was disfigured by acid, according to the FIR.
Police Surgeon Dr Ayesha Fayyaz who carried out a postmortem examination in Quetta, said that the female victim was a 17- or 18-year-old. She was raped and subjected to physical abuse. She died from being shot in the head thrice, said the police surgeon. After the murder, her face was doused with a chemical or acid that left it completely unidentifiable, said the doctor.
The girl belonged to the Khetran tribe.
On the other hand, after the Barkhan tragedy, provincial minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran has also been threatened with an attack by Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan a banned organization. SP Barkhan has issued a letter in this regard directing to increase the security of the minister, who is under custody.
The daughter and two sons of Khan Muhammad Marri were sexually assaulted, police surgeon Dr Ayesha Fayyaz has claimed as the investigation into the Barkhan murder mystery enters the next stage.
The statement from the police surgeon came after the DNA samples of the recovered individuals were taken to check the possibility of sexual abuse.
The Barkhan murder case is a tale of a triple homicide in Balochistan that was initially a hostage crisis but turned into a murder mystery in less than a week.
The case had taken a new twist after law enforcement agencies recovered members of Khan Muhammad Marri’s family, including his wife and five children.
The development came after the arrest of Minister Sardar Abdur Rehman Khetran. He is accused of being behind the deaths of a woman and two young men, whose bodies were found in a well near Khetran’s house in Barkhan district.
Levies said that Giran Naz, who was declared dead, and her two sons were recovered from Barkhan by the Quick Response Force, while one person was rescued in another operation in the Nana Sahib area of Duki.
Two persons were rescued during the operation in Dera Bugti, while all the people have been kept in the custody of the government, Levies said.
It is likely that all six members of the family will be moved to Quetta.
The bodies were found Monday night and Khan Mohammad Marri, a former employee of Khetran, said they were his wife and elder sons. He said her five other children remained incarcerated at Khetran’s private jail.
Police also raided the Barkhan residence of Khetran on Wednesday for the recovery of the remaining five children, but they were later found by the Levies.
The district and sessions court sent Balochistan Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran to jail on judicial remand.
The provincial minister was produced before the judicial magistrate in Quetta by the Special Investigation team.
The Magistrate, sending Khetran to jail on judicial remand, ordered the investigation team to produce him before the court in Barkhan on March 9.
Earlier, the district and sessions court in Quetta had granted the police’s crime branch a 10-day physical remand of Khetran.
