At least 10 people, including children and women, were killed after a massive fire broke out in a house in early hours of Friday in Lower Kohistan.
A massive fire broke out in the house of Mohammad Khan in the Seri area of Pattan, due to which the roof of the house collapsed and the residents were buried under the debris, Rescue 1122 said.
At least 13 people were rescued during the search operation and they were shifted to a local hospital. Ten people succumbed to injuries while three injured are undergoing treatment.
Rescue sources said that seven children and three women were among the dead.
The rescue official said that rescue efforts were underway, and they faced difficulties in retrieving the bodies and the injured.
According to the family, no one else is missing under the debris.
On the other hand, the people of the area are protesting against the death of 10 people on the Silk Road, which was closed to all kinds of traffic. They were chanting slogans against the rescuers.
The protesters claimed that rescue personnel didn’t reach on time which resulted in the loss of 10 lives.
