Pakistan all-format captain Babar Azam has once again grabbed headlines, but this time for his recent gesture of appreciating the ball-picker boy for taking a catch.
It is not very often that Babar gets attention apart from his classy batting or being discussed as the Pakistan captain. However, Babar’s recent gesture is being appreciated by fans.
Babar, who used to be a ball-picker himself over a decade ago, clapped for a young boy who took a good catch standing outside the boundary.
The boy’s expressions were priceless as he received acknowledgement from the Zalmi skipper.
The video was uploaded to the official Pakistan Super League account with the caption: “Ball-picker today, skipper tomorrow. Dreams are made right here.”
Here are some of the reactions from social users:
A user shared a throwback video where Babar can be seen performing his duty as a ball-picker. “Maybe 16 years ago someone clapped for Babar Azam.”
Another user wrote that it was the best moment of the PSL.
Interestingly, Babar’s cricketing journey also started as a ball-picker during South Africa’s 2007 tour of Pakistan.
