Former President Zardari dismissed the talk of Pakistan potentially towards default on Tuesday and said it was no big deal.
“Even Japan and America defaulted,” Zardari told a gathering of party supporters in Mailsi.
He also responded to Imran Khan’s criticism over the PDM government’s handling of the economy and said that the inflation was a product of the PTI government.
“There was no inflation when we left the government,” he said.
he also added that the ruling alliance had known about the problems faced by Pakistan on the economic front before taking power. He added that the parties had gone for a vote of no confidence to remove Imran’s government because the latter had no agenda to fix Pakistan.
“He (Imran) has good political thoughts but he was zero when he was in power,” he said.
The PPP co-chairman also added that he knew they would have to deal with the political costs of the current economic crisis but it was better to remove Imran Khan.
“I trust our workers to have trust in us,” he said.
He also counted the achievements of his government in particular adding that he had increased salaries by 100%.
He also said that the solution to Pakistan’s problems is raisng exports to $80-100 billion not in ‘begging’ for money from other countries.
