Former Prime Minister Imran Khan condemned the death of a Baloch woman and her sons at an alleged private prison under the control of provincial minister Abdul Rehman Khethran.
However, while the condemnation was firm and he also demanded immediate action, there was one detail that the got wrong.
He said that the incident happened in ‘Khetran, Balochistan’. The actual name of the place is Barkhan, in the Loralai district.
The word that Imran used his actually the name of the tribe, to which the provincial minister at the center of this controversy belongs. The tribe is spread in the northeast of Balochistan but does not have a city named after it.
Police had raided the Quetta residence of Sardar Abdur Rehman Khetran on Tuesday after reports emerged that three people had died in a private jail allegedly located on his property in Barkhan.
The police raids came after protests started across the province, demanding action against the jail.
