Satirist and playwright Anwar Maqsood has drawn a parallel between the lead character of the Bollywood movie Pathaan (played by Shah Rukh Khan) and PTI Chief Imran Khan at the Pakistan Literature Festival (PLF) in Lahore.
A clip from his PLF appearance on the final day of the literature festival has gone viral and won traction with PTI supporters.
“In Hindustan Pathaan has broken all records – a historic achievement. In Pakistan, the pathaan is facing one FIR after the other,” said Anwar Maqsood and the crowd erupted into applause.
“And in the current scenario, Pakistani pathaan does not seem to succeed, but it is being heard that in the next election Pakistani pathaan is getting far higher booking than the Indian pathaan,” said Anwar Maqsood as he referred to Imran Khan as Pakistani pathaan.
Maqsood then went on to say that Pakistan ranked second in namak (salt) production but ranked on the top when it came to progenate the namak haraams or traitors.
