Tom Kohler-Cadmore wants to learn new tricks from Babar Azam

Middle-order batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore has expressed excitement to play alongside Babar Azam as he is looking forward to learn from the Pakistan captain.

The Pakistan all-format captain Babar Azam joined Peshawar Zalmi in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) after spending six season with the Karachi Kings.

Cadmore, who was retained by Zalmi, was excited to bag a trick or two from the world number one ODI batter in the eight edition. “Let’s be honest, to be able to play with Babar, it is going to be great,” he told media on the sidelines.

“To be able to learn a thing or two from him will be great for my game.”

He said Babar leading Pakistan into the ICC T20 World Cup final in Australia was a great achievement. “I think he will only bring positive things to our team.”

The 28-year-old praised the quality of the bowling in the PSL, saying that it helped him improve his game. “Every time I come here, the quality of bowling has really impressed me and it is challenging as a batter. It helped me improve my game a lot, I hope to contribute to the team.”

The right-hander said that Zalmi have a great squad and are one of the title contenders this year for the trophy.

“I absolutely love my time here in Pakistan, for me obviously, I want to give as many contributions to Peshawar Zalmi in as many games as possible,” he said. “We have got the great squad this year, hopefully we can challenge for the title, and put our name up there in the final. For me to get out in the knockout stage and from there get on to the roll and win the trophy.”

He believes that it would be heard to pick a playing XI for Zalmi. “I know, it is going to cause a headache to our team to pick the right XI, because we have a lot of talented guys. This is kind of thing you like in your side,” he concluded.
