Dismembered Karachi body identified as Quetta man

A dismembered body found in Karachi’s Paposhnagar area on Wednesday has been identified as a 39-year-old man from Quetta.

The torso of a male and limbs were found spread over a small area near the Paposhnagar Graveyard two days ago.

The police used the victim’s fingerprints to establish his identity. The fingerprints matched a record in the database maintained by the National Database Registration Authority, or Nadra.

The victim was identified as 39-year-old Shahbaz – a resident of Quetta. The family tree shows he has four siblings.

The fingerprints were taken from the arms that had been cut off from the torso. So, the Police are waiting for DNA reports to confirm beyond doubt that the torso also belonged to Shahbaz, officials told reporters on Friday.

Police registered a case against an unknown accused under the section of murder on Thursday.

The FIR stated that the head was separated from the torso with a sharp instrument, and both arms and legs were also cut off from the torso.
