An Islamabad sessions court has sentenced two policemen to death and another to life in prison in the Osama Satti murder case.
Satti, a young man in his early 20s, was shot dead by trigger-happy policemen on January 2, 2021, on the Srinagar Highway in Islamabad when he was returning home after dropping his friends at their home in Sector H-11.
Personnel of the anti-terrorism police fired at his vehicle from all sides in Sector G-10, the court was told during the trial.
The trial ran for over two years and Additional Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry announced a verdict on Tuesday. She had reserved the judgment on January 31.
Two of the five accused Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Mustafa have been sentenced to death. Saeed Ahmed, Shakeel Ahmed and Mudassar Mukhtar got life in prison.
