PTI rejects appointment of Mohsin Naqvi as caretaker Punjab CM

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rejected on Sunday the appointment of Mohsin Raza Naqvi as caretaker Punjab chief minister.

Taking to Twitter former information minister and PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said that the electoral watchdog never failed to disappoint. “We reject the decision to appoint a controversial person like Mohsin Naqvi as the chief minister.”

“Mohsin Naqvi’s appointment is made to block the way of PTI by rigging the elections,” the PTI leader said and added that his party would challenge the appointment in the court.

“We will run a big movement under the leadership of Imran Khan,” Chaudhry said and urged the people to come to the streets for a decisive movement.

The reaction came after ECP appointed Naqvi as caretaker Punjab chief minister.

Taking to Twitter, former prime minister and PTI chief Imran Khan slammed ECP for selecting “a sworn enemy of PTI” as a caretaker Punjab chief minister.

“ECP has helped reduce Pakistan to a Banana Republic making our democracy a joke. I will be holding a presser tomorrow to expose this entire farce,” the PTI chief added.

Meanwhile, former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi also rejected the appointment, saying that how could justice be expected from the person who made a plea bargain of 3.5 million rupees in Haris Steel case.

“The controversial decision of the Election Commission is against every rule and regulation. We are going to the Supreme Court against the decision of the election commission.”
