A special ticket for a football match featuring soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi has been sold at 10 million Riyals (over 607 million in Pakistani currency) after Saudi businessman Mushref al-Ghamdi won the bidding at auction.
Under the Riyadh Season Cup, the match on Jan 19 in Riyadh is set to pit Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain against a select side made up of players from Ronaldo’s new club Al Nassr and their Saudi rivals Al Hilal.
The ticket would allow Ghamdi to meet Ronaldo and Messi besides getting a chance to attend the winner’s ceremony and enter both dressing rooms.
The money will go to the Saudi state charity, Ehsan.
Ronaldo will earn 200 million euros to promote Saudi Arabia’s joint 2030 World Cup bid in addition to his club salary, a source close to his club said.
Portugal icon, following the World Cup in Qatar, signed for Al Nassr FC to become the highest-paid sportsman in the world.
