CM Mehmood sends summary for dissolution of KP Assembly to governor

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan has sent the summary for the dissolution of the provincial assembly to Governor Haji Ghulam Ali.

“As promised, the summary for the dissolution of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has been signed and sent to the governor,” CM Mehmood confirmed in a tweet on Tuesday.

He expressed hope that PTI would emerge victorious with two-third majority in the next elections.

The decision comes days after the Punjab Assembly was dissolved over the weekend, with the governor, Baligh ur-Rehman, excusing himself from the process.

Earlier, the chief minister while chairing a meeting of the provincial government earlier in the day announced that he would send the summary for approval before midnight today [Tuesday].

CM Mahmood during the cabinet meeting thanked the government and opposition lawmakers, as well as members of the civil service, for their service.

Meanwhile, Governor Haji Ghulam Ali said in a statement that the assembly should not be dissolved. But, he added, that if a summary would be sent to him for approval he would not become part of the process of dissolution of the provincial assembly as the Punjab governor did.
