An unknown person hurled a shoe at the vehicle of Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday when he was coming out of the Punjab Assembly after attending the session.
According to the reports the interior minister was sitting on the front seat of the car, but the shoe thrown at Rana Sana’s car hit the windshield.
The incident comes hours after chaos erupted at the entrance gate of the assembly when Sanaullah and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Ataullah Tarar were barred from entering the premises but they forced their way inside it as the session was resumed.
Immediately after the incident, PML-N workers took a person into custody and transferred him to the opposition’s chamber.
The PML-N leaders alleged that the man who hurled the shoe was the driver of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Rashid Hafiz from Rawalpindi.
Earlier the PML-N members staged a protest outside the Punjab Assembly against the adjournment of the session by the speaker of the Punjab Assembly. During today’s session, the opposition demanded Chief Minister Parvez Elahi get a vote of confidence if he had the required numbers.
