LAHORE: Tremors were felt in various cities of Punjab including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Sharqpur Sharif and surrounding areas.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre of the Pakistan Meteorologicla Department, a magnitude 4.2 quake on the Richter scale was recorded in Punjab near the Pakistan-India border.
The epicentre is believed to be 20 kms from Sheikhupura, with tremors felt in many cities including the provincial capital Lahore.
It led to some panic as residents in parts of Lahore rushed out of their homes in search of open ground.
There was no loss of life or property reported till the filing of this report.
