Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb while slamming Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman for issuing a so-called ‘white paper’ on the coalition government’s performance, asked why the PTI chief was not issuing a white paper on his failures during the last four years of his party’s rule.
“No white paper can whiten Imran Khan’s black thefts and corruption,” the information minister said addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday. She urged the PTI chief to issue a White paper on his own government’s performance during the last four years.
Aurangzeb said that Imran Khan should have told about the successes of the previous PML-N government when the prices of food and drinks were low. “The power plants installed during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure were shut by Imran Khan.”
The information minister said that PTI was in power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the last nine years but could not make a single institution to counter the terrorism in the province. “Today terrorism is sprouting there once again posing a challenge to the whole country,” she added.
Aurangzeb asked the PTI chief to apologize to the people of the country for the havoc he wreaked on the country during his tenure instead of issuing white papers.
The federal minister said that those who issued the white paper had got an economically stable Pakistan. “Due to their [PTI] incompetence, terrorism has resurfaced and people in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are not even able to afford bread,” she added.
The minister said when the PML-N government ended in 2018, the country was progressing with a stable economic outlook and all CPEC projects were running successfully. “PML-N has always provided relief to the people.”
She lamented that Imran Khan not only compromised country’s stance on major fronts like Kashmir issue but also destroyed the economy.
Aurangzeb said Imran Khan left the country at the brink of default and the incumbent government through tough decisions was trying to put it back on the path of stability.
“While the government is working tirelessly to take the country out of the conundrum Imran Khan put it into, he is here with a white paper to hoodwink the people.”
