PTI leaders advise Imran Khan to dissolve Punjab assembly first

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has evolved a new strategy regarding the dissolution of assemblies after the majority of the party leaders suggested dissolving the Punjab assembly first.

The PTI leaders advising Imran Khan are of the view that after dissolving the Punjab Assembly, the federal government should be put on a tester and that the response from the coalition government should be waited for.

They said that the PTI should bring forward its counter-political strategy on the response of the federal government, and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly should be dissolved in the next phase.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan will also ask the members of various districts of the National and Provincial assemblies for their opinion on the dissolution of the assemblies this week.

Sources privy to the matter said that the party leaders have advised the PTI chief that politically, the government should remain in at least one province in any case.

The PTI leadership has also decided to turn the protest movement into an election campaign.

Imran Khan said the country was going through the worst economic crisis, and that transparent snap elections were the only way to get out of the quagmire.

The PTI leaders said that they would frequently participate in Imran Khan’s electoral campaigns because the coalition government’s failed policies had irreparably damaged the country.

Sources said Imran Khan will hold final meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi this week in connection with dissolution of assembly.
