Twitter CEO Elon Musk has announced that his company would soon start freeing the name space of 1.5 billion accounts.
The Tesla and Space X owner made the announcement on Twitter stating that these are obvious account deletions with no tweets and no log in for years.
The move will see a significant decline in the number of followers to some of the accounts.
He earlier said that company will begin telling users if their posts have been suppressed and give them an avenue to appeal.
Ever since his takeover of Twitter in $44 billion deal, Musk has introduced a slew of changes at the company. He lay off nearly half of Twitter’s 7,500-strong workforce.
Since acquiring the micro blogging site, Musk said that he is trying to maximise free speech on the platform.
Musk said “hate speech impressions” are actually down by a third since he bought the company.
