Security forces have arrested a suspect involved in a gun attack on officials of Pakistani mission in the Afghan capital a day earlier, reports said on Saturday.
On Friday, the head of the Pakistani mission in Kabul, Obaidur Rehman Nizmani, narrowly escaped the assassination attack that took place in the embassy compound.
However, in this attack, a security guard soldier, Israr Muhammad, was injured while protecting the diplomat, who was transferred to Pakistan by an emergency flight.
Sources said that the incident took place when Pakistan’s charge d’affaires and his staff were present in the embassy.
According to preliminary investigation, 100 rounds as well as 7 sniper shots were fired at the Pakistani embassy in Kabul.
The reports said that the attack was carried out from a commercial building near the embassy.
According to the reports the suspect lived on the eighth floor of the building.
When the security forces raided the building, he attempted to escape but was eventually captured.
The security forces also recovered a long-range rifle and other weapons from the flat.
