Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has finalized the name for the new administrator Karachi.
Sources privy to the matter said that the MQM-P Rabita Committee in a meeting has decided to appoint former member of the National Assembly Abdul Waseem as the administrator of Karachi after consultation, whose name was also sent to the PPP leadership and he may be appointed as the administrator of the port city next week.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Saeed Ghani, speaking exclusively with Aaj News, said that the consultation with MQM-P had been going on for the last 8 months, which had almost been completed.
Ghani said that MQM-P wanted the administrator of Karachi to be from their party.
A day earlier, during a delegation-level meeting of PPP and MQM-P, it was agreed that MQM-P would withdraw its candidate from the Senate by-poll
Following the understanding, MQM-P leader Waseem Akhter informed the reporters regarding the development and expressed hope that PPP’s candidate after becoming the senator would strive in the upper house of the parliament for securing the due rights of the people of Sindh.
