Pakistani investigators have sought information from Dubai police regarding the visa and travel details related to slain Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif for the period that he stayed there after his departure from Pakistan and before his murder in Kenya.
The Federal Investiation Agency (FIA) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB), who sent a two-men team to Kenya to investigate the killing, wrote the letter addressed to the consul general of Pakistan in Dubai.
Arshad Sharif was shot dead in Kenya on October 24, with initial reports suggesting that he was shot dead by Kenyan police in a case of mistaken identity.
He had spent time in Dubai prior to his departure for Kenya, with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf repeatedly claiming that Sharif was forced to leave Dubai at the behest of Pakistan. The Foreign Office has denied the accussation.
