Chris Rock to go live on Netflix

In a first, Netflix has announced that Chris Rock will perform a live comedy set on the streaming giant’s platform.

Reports first emerged in May that Netflix was planning to stream live stand-up comedy and unscripted shows.

The comedian already has a Netflix special named Chris Rock: Tamborine which was released in 2018.

“People expect me to talk about the bullshit, I’m not going to talk about it right now,” he said in London during his 2022 Ego Death tour that ends later this month. “I’ll get to it eventually, on Netflix.”

“We’re thrilled the entire world will be able to experience a live Chris Rock comedy event and be a part of Netflix history. This will be an unforgettable moment and we’re so honored that Chris is carrying this torch,” Robbie Praw, Netflix’s vice president of stand-up and comedy formats said, calling rock one of the most iconic comedians of the current generation.

Rock’s live Netflix comedy special will reportedly stream in early 2023, more details will be released soon.
