JAMRUD: The Counter Terrorism Department has claimed to have killed a terrorist and injured three others during a search operation in Gariza and Malikabad areas of Jamrud, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The terrorist killed was identified as Liaquat Ali alias Shaheen, said a press release.
The CTD and security forces got a tip that an “organised group” of terrorists was planning to conduct a big terror activity in Peshawar. They were residing at a residential plot in the Khyber district’s area Gariza.
Wounded terrorists have been taken into custody during the search and clear operation.
“Shaheen was an important commander of Da’esh [Islamic State] and wanted by the CTD in dozens of cases of terrorism,” it said.
They claimed that a heavy amount of “latest” weapons, arms, and explosive devices were recovered from the site.
