PTI secretary general Asad Umar said that the former prime minister and party chairman Imran Khan suspected three people behind the assassination attempt on him.
“Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, and a senior military officer are behind the assassination attempt,” Umar said in a video statement alongside party leader Mian Aslam Iqbal.
Umar warned of countrywide protests if the suspected three people were not removed from office.
“Imran Khan has said that he had the information beforehand that these people might be involved in the assassination attempt on him,” Asad said.
He said that Imran Khan was in stable condition in the hospital after being shot in the leg, adding that the PTI chief would make the nationwide call.
Mian Aslam Iqbal said that they were registering an FIR against three persons. “We are waiting for the next call from Khan Sahib,” he added.
