Bollywood’s Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan, released the teaser of his much-awaited movie – Pathaan – on Wednesday and the day could not have been better than his birthday. Though he made special appearances in a couple of movies this year, the Jan 25, 2023 release would end his four years hiatus from movies.

“Tighten your seat belts and the weather is going to change,” Shah Rukh also known as King Khan wrote in a tweet in which he dropped the trailer of a spy thriller.

Deepika Padukone and John Abraham are also in the lead roles in the film. #PathaanTeaser and #PathaanTeaseronNov2 were among the top trends on the Bollywood actor’s birthday.

The film is produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Sidharth Anand. It would be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Shah Rukh earlier this year appeared in cameo and special appearances in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva, and Laal Singh Chaddha.

Media insiders and fans have huge hopes that Pathaan would end the dry spell of Hindi movies at the Indian box office. Movies shot in Hindi languages over the past many months have not been able to prove mega box office hits like in the past. Many critics have also attributed “boycott campaigns” trend has affected movies like Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan.

They have also expressed concerns over the release of movies based on “propaganda”.

Pan-India movies like Pushpa: The Rise, K.G.F: Chapter 2, RRR, and Vikram have been successful commercially and received good reviews from critics.
