Initiated in 2008 by the Arts Council Karachi, Alami Urdu Conference has been a regular annual feature eagerly awaited by the literary enthusiasts and cultural figures of the city.

From the next year, however, the International Urdu Conference will be organized in the US, Canada, and on behalf of Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi next year, according to a press release.

Arts Council Karachi’s President Muhammad Ahmad Shah is currently in the United States on a 15 day visit where he will finalize the arrangements for the proposed Aalmi Urdu Conference.

The idea is to hold the Aalmi Urdu Conference in Toronto, Canada on July 7 and 8, 2023, after which it will be held in Chicago, USA, and in Dubai on August 14 and 15, the press release said.

Muhammad Ahmad Shah is meeting with various organizations and personalities including the president of the Asian Society in North America to ensure that these events are organized on an international level for the first time.
