A sea patrol from Pakistan Maritime Security Agency arrested 16 Indian fishermen with two boats after they entered Pakistani’s territorial waters, a spokesperson said on Friday.
The Indian nationals were illegally fishing in Pakistan’s territorial waters, the spokesperson said.
The arrested fishermen have been handed over to the Docks Police Station in Karachi where most of the detained fishermen are held before being transferred to prison.
Pakistan and India regularly arrest each other’s fishermen over violations of the sea border. They are released after completing sentences.
