Suspected robber lynched in Karachi for assaulting women

A suspected robber was lynched in Karachi’s Gulzar-e-Hijiri area Thursday night after he allegedly assaulted women during a robbery bid.

The 40-year-old unidentified man and his accomplice were allegedly robbing people and had assaulted women when passersby overpowered him.

They punched and kicked him and later stoned him.

One of the enraged people shot and wounded the suspected robber, who later died at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, rescue officials told Aaj TV.

His accomplice managed to flee the scene.

The money they had looted has been recovered from the dead robber.

In another incident, robber shot and wounded two people in North Karachi Sector 2 near Ishaatul Quran religious seminary.

CCTV footage obtained by Aaj TV showed passersby trying to overpower one of the robbers as the other resorts to indiscriminate firing.

A woman was in close proximity but the robber continued to fire shots.
