Some players of the Pakistan cricket team, which is on a tour of the Netherlands for the ODI series, visited Dutch football club AFC Ajax and shared their knowledge. The tourists’ contingent was led by skipper Babar Azam.
“He is Cristiano [Ronaldo] and [Lionel] Messi mixture,” Shadab Khan told the Dutch football club CEO Edwin van der Sar during an interaction. The CEO, who had played alongside the Portuguese player in Manchester United, had asked Shadab “Is he [Babar] Messi?”
Players visited the stadium and interacted with players. They also spoke about cricket and the rules of the game.
Pakistan won the first two matches of the series at the VOC Cricket Ground, Rotterdam. Unbeaten half-centuries from Mohammad Rizwan and Agha Salman led the tourists to a seven-wicket win over the Netherlands in the second one-day international on Thursday to complete a series victory.
Babar and the group of players during the trip came across the football, which was made in Pakistan. Imamul Haq said it was a proud moment for the country.
Babar and Ajax Captain Dusan Tadic also exchanged jerseys during the visit. The football club captioned the picture as “real recognize real”.
The skipper said that it was a pleasure for him to meet all the players and wished the club for the season.
“Nice to meet all of you from the Pakistan cricket team. Always interesting when people from two different sports meet each other. And many thanks for the collectors item!” Edwin said in a tweet.
